My radar just detected a new promising talent. Oh yeah! Well he probably couldn’t be that new to some of you but he turned out to be a good surprise to me: Yoo Seung Woo. He released his 1st eponym album few days ago and I just like it. I also just can’t believe that he’s only 17! He’s a kid for God’s sake. Talent does not depend upon age I suppose. Is that even how you say it? However.
To be honest before I
google Yoo Seung Woo, what I knew about him was close to nothing. It was
actually nothing! Didn’t know he participated in Superstar K4 on Mnet, that he got 6th place in the
contest, that he had a duo with Huh Gak (I absolutely like) called Monodrama and of course I was surely not
aware that he was born in 1997! I know I have to go over his age. I’m in the
process, give me some time. The thing is Yoo Seung Woo has a mature voice which
is a good point both for him and us, but still a bit confusing when you put his
actual age next to this affirmation. 
Anyway, the first time I
heard Yoo Seung Woo was when he dropped his second mini-album, Early Nineteen, early this year, in
February (his 1st mini-album, First
Picnic, was released in May 2013). I hadn’t pay much attention to the cover
because if I had at that time I would certainly have noticed that Yoo Seung Woo
was truly young (he looks like 15 on it). I said that I’m in the process of
getting over his age, be patient and understandable. I didn’t really feel a lot
of for Early Nineteen maybe except
for That Day that was melodious
enough to catch my attention. It was an average mini-album among others. At
this point I wasn’t frankly curious to hear First
Picnic. You know just in case I’d have missed the perfect song. But my
curiosity could be piqued this time consider how much I liked his first album.
I actually didn’t make the
connection when I first heard him singing What
Do I Do for Sly and Single Again OST. It wasn’t his first OST though (he sang
The Day You Come for Two Weeks. Truthfully I didn’t really notice the OST in
that drama, was too busy running with Lee Jun Ki). But it’s concretely with What Do I Do, that I got interested.
Interested enough to want more.
Yoo Seung Woo is my recent
and unexpected crush. I’m really glad to have gave him a try. He happily came
to join my already full playlist of Kpop on my ipod. Which is probably among one
of my wisest decision of the past few days (added to the decision of watching
more movies to feed the Kmovies category. Haha!).
