2PM - My House
…My house… In 10 minutes I’ll be waiting for you over there… Junho…Someone send me help I’m about to faint. What can I say here? I have an ultimate bias for Junho. All right and beside that? Well I’ve liked the two leads songs of 2PM’s previous albums (A.D.I.T.O.Y from Grown, Go Crazy! from the eponym album) so I was quite exciting to discover My House, the first single of their fifth album, No.5. And I haven’t been disappointed at all. The song’s my ultimate crush of this year! I like almost everything about that song: the melody, the subtlety the group’s masculinity, their hotness, the MV, his concept and the choreography. Told you there’s nothing to throw away here. 2PM’s constantly evolving and looking for new melodies and genres. Keep on the good work guys, it’s working fine. 2PM is on top of its sexiness, what more could I ask? Another hot track next year? What, you think I’m too greedy here? Really?
4Men – You’re My Home
Those guys never
disappoint me. Like never. You’re My Home
is gorgeous. Produced by The Vibe, the
song is part of Made in the Vibe
album, that included several artist’s collaborations. 4Men lost one member last year but they’re still doing so great, I can
only expect more of them. You’re My Home is
also the name of their latest live album. That latter is a pure enchantment for
the ears. I can’t wait to hear more of you 4Men, I can’t barely wait!
MC Mong Feat. The Chancellor of The Channels – Love Mash
Part of the EP: Song for You, I love the
combination of Chancellor’s voice
and the MC Mong’s rap on Love
Mash. I’ve loved MC Mong’s previous full length album, Miss Me or Diss
Me a lot. Love Mash describes a guy who seems to have lost it. He longs
for the girl he still desperately likes: “Still I find me running back to you,
I can’t escape, it has to be you” Hold on MC Mong, you’ll eventually get
over it.
Winner: 2PM - My House
CATEGORY: MINI ALBUMS
Nominees:
Got7 – Just Right
I’ve already
express all my love for this mini album in a previous post. If the boys won
this category it’s because this mini album is good and also because I can’t get
enough of “…Don’t worry about anything, Because
I like everything about you, Don’t change anything about yourself”! Go Got7,
it’s just right as it is!
Urban Zakapa – UZ
This trio is one
of my favorite bands (see this previous post). Their melodies,
lyrics and harmonies
are so deep and intense, it’s hard not to fall in love. I fell in love with
many of their previous opus and UZ is
no exception!
Oh My Girl – Closer
What I know about
those girls is close to nothing. To be completely honest, I have no idea who Oh My Girl is. There’s many girls band
out there, too many for me to follow actually. So I asked my dear friend, Google, and I found some info about them.
With eight members, the girl band described as B1A4’s ‘little sister’, officially
debuted in April 2015. I discovered the group through Hot Summer Night, one of the song included in their first mini
album, Cupid. That song was fresh and
quite attractive. Their second mini album, Closer,
came with a fantasy concept and an intriguing MV to go along. Closer has special something. Its maybe
the sad and enigmatic lyrics perfectly synced with the MV. Round About is conventional but catchy and it still works
perfectly. I’m curious to see what those girls have in store for us in the
future.

Nominees:
Big Bang – M.A.D.E
Red Velvet – Red
If things have to
be said, the only member of Red Velvet I know is Joy. And if I know her, it’s solely
because of We Got Married. Easy
shortcut but that’s the truth. I’ve heard Dumb,
Dumb several times in that program and found it catchy and melodious so I
was rather curious to hear the whole opus. And the overall feeling of Red is quite good. From Dumb, Dumb, Huff & Puff to Red Dress
and Cool World, the album is a
catchy, sometimes hip-hop, sometimes R’n’b but always in place with strong
vocals. The song that completely won me over is definitely the easy on the ears:
Cool World. The song is an ode to be
yourself, an invitation to close your eyes on this world and enter a cooler
world where it’s ok to be different: “Because
I love myself, because I’m so me, I’m the best friend to myself”!
Jung Young Hwa - One Fine Day
This first solo of
CN Blue’s leader was a surprise for me, a good surprise actually. This previous post says how much I’ve liked it.
CATEGORY: OST
Nominees:
Producers
This drama had an
interesting concept and some awesome songs. Do I have to beginning with Ali and Both of Us, Ben with Palpitations, Baek Ji Young with And…And
or Zitten and TV Show. No I think I’ll start with my ultimate favorite song of
the OST: To Be With You from Kim Yeon-woo. I’ve been captured by the
first notes. The song is musical, catchy and well balanced. Producers was like
the first born of a new genre in dramaland and I kind of liked the concept. It
was predictable and conventional: “I like
you; I’ve liked you first; I only see you as a friend; I love you; Love you
back; I’m dying to confess, should I?” but I’ve really enjoyed the behind
the scenes atmosphere, so I won’t complain. But since we’re here for the music,
I’m going to shout out once again all my love for this best OST of this year: “As I look at you, the reason to my life, I want to
laugh even louder and live, To be with you.”
I’m with you guys, don’t worry, I’m with you!
I’m with you guys, don’t worry, I’m with you!
Warm & Cozy
Healer
I loved this drama
so much and it marked so much it’s hard to tell (well I’ve already expressed
all my love in a previous post). There’s not much I didn’t love about Healer. From the acting, the plot and
intrigue to the characters and OST. It’s simple, whenever I hummed “All my love, I’m all yoooooooours…” by Michael Learns To Rock, I'm instantly
connected to Seo Jung-Hoo/Healer (Ji
Chang-wook). It’s a bit extreme, but it’s not far from the truth. Jinja (my right hand is up!) Ben with YOU is my crush on this OST. This song was played during sad scenes
(no need to mention that those scenes mostly happened between Healer and Chae
Young-shin played by Park Min-young). Ben’s voice’s crystalline
and clear, perfect for ballads and more upbeat songs. No need to talk about Ji
Chang-wook singing for the OST. Or should I mention it?
