I feel like the cast
has been shooting for months (when they only started in September). It’s
probably due to all the fuss that surrounded the drama in the beginning. That could
basically be resumed by: Park Hae-jin
confirmed to play the lead. Actually it’s not confirmed. Suzy is courted. Netizen are going crazy. Suzy declined. Kim Go-Eun
is courted instead. No one seems to be mad about that. She declined. The
director insisted. Both leads are finally confirmed. Everyone’s happy. Me
included.
The only
time I’ve seen Kim Go-eun was in her fourth movie, Coin Locker Girl. She debuted in 2011 and has been stuck to movies
since. Cheese in the Trap will be her
first drama and considering the fact she was awesome in Coin Locker Girl, I have reasonable expectations here. I can’t
exactly recall the first drama of Park Hae-jin I watched. Was it East Of Eden or maybe Hot Blood? Not sure but I’m sure I
dropped both shows. Not a good sign but I didn’t drop My Daughter Seo-Young and You
From Another Star. He was cute and endearing enough in them for me to want
more of him. I like both actors so I really have good feelings about the drama (chemistry,
chemistry please. Well something tells me there would be some.)
For the story there's not much: Yoo-Jung (Park Hae-jin) is perfect in every possible ways (look, personality, grades). He's Hong-Seol's (Kim Go-eun) sunbae at the university where they both study. She's sturdy and has to work part-time due to her poor background. She'll fall for him eventually, somehow. I've never read the webcomic but I believe there'll be more than this paltry synopsis.
I’ll be
waiting patiently for you drama. You look cute, fresh and tasty! See you on January
